A/HI 450 - Decolonizing Visual Culture Analysis of how visual culture has been colonized and, increasingly, decolonized, with a focus on how power dynamics operate through visual forms. Readings focus on specific examples, with postcolonial theory, critical race theory, and queer theory providing frameworks for students to build their own analyses.
