MLE 433 - Culture, Equity, and Advocacy for Bilingual Students This course provides a foundation for teachers to understand and address the relevant cultural and equity issues that linguistically diverse students face in US public schools. This includes being able to identify bias across assessment, curriculum, and pedagogy. There is also an emphasis on culturally and linguistically sustaining approaches to programming for students identified as language learners. A service learning experience allows teacher candidates to connect theory to context.
