ENVS 517 - GIS I: Introduction to Geographic Information Science An introduction to Geographic Information Science (GIS) concepts and Geographic Information Systems technology. Lectures will focus on the nature of spatial data, spatial data sources, and the creation, management, analysis, and visualization of spatial data. Students will gain practical experience in GIS applications through lab assignments and the development of an original research project.
