MATH 563 - Geometric Topology An overview of methods in geometric topology focused on understanding knots and surfaces. Topics include basic graph theory, including the classification of Platonic solids; simplicial and polygonal descriptions of knots and surfaces; classification of surfaces; and diagrammatic, combinatorial, and geometric techniques in knot theory.
Prerequisites & Notes: MATH 204 and MATH 224; and MATH 302 or MATH 309 or equalivent. Credits: 4 Grade Mode: Letter
