PLSC 315 - Why We Fight This course explores different facets of political violence. Why do states go to war with each other? What, if anything, can the international community do to prevent or stop civil wars? Under what conditions is international humanitarian intervention justified? How have trends in conflict changed in recent years? The course has significant reading and writing components. Students are expected to be familiar with international relations theories and the study of comparative politics.
