ENVS 484 - The Literature of Nature and Place Describes and explores the tradition of writing about the outdoors and human-nature relationship in literature. Students read and discuss writings of Thoreau, Burroughs, Muir, Leopold, Carson, Eisley, Lopez, Tempest Williams and others. Students learn the structure and techniques of nature writing while writing a personal nature essay.
