HIST 460 - American Environmental History History of the role and place of nature in American culture from the colonial era to the present, with some comparisons to significant and kindred human-nature interactions elsewhere. Will emphasize the history of cultural constructions of nature, on American perceptions and conceptions of nature, on the transnational character of many environmental problems and ideas, and on the environmental consequences of this.
