GEOL 556 - Principles of Orogeny Seminar Study of geological and geophysical aspects of continental tectonics and mountain-building processes. Topics may include thermochronology, heat flow, metamorphic petrology, structural geology, tectonic geomorphology, plate tectonics, and geodesy. The combined lecture and seminar format requires reading and discussion by all students. Field trip, research projects, and oral presentations required. Taught alternate years.
