REL 336 - New Testament and Early Christianity A survey of the New Testament and related early Christian literature. The texts are analyzed as expressions of the ways in which groups or individuals understood themselves, their world, and God. The historical and cultural contexts in which the texts were written are emphasized with attention to the variety of early Christian traditions and their development under changing historical circumstances.
