THTR 111 - Basic Visual Design

Foundations in Design Communication will introduce theatre design concepts, principles of design composition, and techniques of design representation through drawing, painting, graphic analysis, and model making. In addition to the studio format of the class, students will learn about theatre design through an analysis of an important work of visual culture. Students will analyze important works of world painting and use the deep compositional structure of these works to generate their own designs.
