HIST 468 - Borderlands and Frontiers of North America

This course examines borderlands and frontiers as spaces across North America and also as historiographical concepts. Students will sample the historical literature on areas of encounters among Native Americans and Euro-Americans in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. Students will also consider some “hidden” drivers of encounters, including disease and recent work in early-modern climate history.
