SOC 381 - Sociology of Culture Introduces students to sociological approaches to the study of culture in both the US and other national and historical contexts. Examines both theoretical and empirical work by cultural sociologists, including how culture is created through interactions and rituals, maintained through formal and informal norms and policies, and challenged by the (re)distribution of resources.
Prerequisites & Notes: Any one course from: SOC 221, SOC 234, SOC 251, SOC 255, SOC 260, SOC 268 or SOC 269; or instructor permission. Credits: 5 Grade Mode: Letter
