University Residences

Return to: Student Services (more)

Edens Hall, 360-650-6565

The residential experience is intentionally designed to create affordable, safe and well-maintained University housing that supports participation in healthy, inclusive and sustainable communities, where students invest in their academic success and personal growth. Living on campus is optional, yet about 90 percent of freshmen choose On-Campus Housing. First-year students who meet the housing deadlines are guaranteed housing; returning residents are accommodated on a space available basis. Extensive research demonstrates students living on campus earn higher grades and graduate in higher numbers than students living off campus. Residents must be enrolled in a minimum of eight credits per quarter to live on campus.

Meal plans and Viking Dollars are available to all members of the campus community. Western offers full-service customizable catering for events of all sizes, both on and off campus. Dining Services is committed to sustainable practices in all aspects of its operations, including locally sourced food, compostable packaging, food composting, zero-waste catering and Fair Trade coffee.
